5906 Magazine Jam??

Hey guys, i just picked up a mint condition 5906 from my "not so local gunshop". I usually leave a couple of my pistols and mags loaded for HD. I noticed while unloading one of my mags that the follower continually gets stuck about half way down leaving the bullets loose. I replaced the mag spring and i am still having the same problem. What am i missing?? Thanks

Is your ammo factory or reload? Check your Overall length. What you are describing is typical of at least one round being slightly too long.

Disassemble the magazine and check that the spring is not installed backwards. If it is backwards it can apply uneven pressure underneath the follower. This is also your chance to clean the magazine components.

Which way does the mag spring go?? I didn't realize they went a curtain way

Yeah, that did it. When i replaced the old weak spring i just assumed that it was installed correctly. I replaced it the same way it came out and didnt even think about it. I switched it around and put about 100 rounds through that mag and no problems!!!
