Maybe some of the early production TSW pistols or special order from a PD like Atlanta, GA. If you google S&W 4003TSW Atlanta PD you'll see examples of a full size TSW without a rail. Sending it back to S&W will help to, they take the rail off and plug the holes. A few pictures of that around the Internet too

Thanks for your reply. After I posted I thumbed through the bible & I didn't see a listing for a 5906 or a 5903 without rail. I have a 4013TSW that has had the rail removed, so I'm aware of that possibility. I was just hoping to find something a bit more...pristine.

If you ever had the funds, maybe you could try placing the 5906TSW slide onto one of the Atlanta 4003TSW frames, they should be nearly the same if they already aren't. Of course that would give you a 5903TSW.

They are out there, but they are truly rare.
Many LE agencies had no use for the rail on a handgun and ordered TSW's from S&W sans rail.
There were a bunch of 5903TSW's from Atlanta PD, and Gwinette County Sheriff too IIRC, that were made without the rail and no holes in the dustcover.
It took me several years of searching to track down a full size 4513TSW without the stupid rail. Well worth the search. I'm currently looking for a 4566TSW made without the rail.
I would advise against "mixing and matching" TSW top ends and frames. The frame and slide of S&W TSW series pistols are matched and fitted at the factory. Both the slide and frame bear inscribed numbers so that they could be kept together during assembly. This was done to guarantee function, accuracy and reliability. Seperating them would not be a good idea, IMO. Good luck with the search! Regards 18DAI

Thank you everyone for your ideas & suggestions. As 18DAI mentioned, one of the strongest selling points of the TSW variant is the fact that the slide & frame are matched, making for a superior fit. I don't know if I'm happy to hear that the pistol does exist without rail or if I'm even more frustrated. I realize now that if I do find one, it may be out of reach for me due to rarity. In any case, the search continues!

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever seen a 5906TSW without a rail. I'm sure they're out there, just kinda uncommon I guess. Gunbroker shows about 18 5906s for sale without rails, but they aren't TSWs.
I think there were a ton of 5943TSWs without the rail released by Memphis PD recently.
I might have that wrong though.

I actually have a factory "non-rail" 5906tsw. Picked it up 15 years ago from a Police trade in. It was actually NIB. I put maybe 200 rounds through it and have kept it oiled/cleaned in a silicone sock in a very dry safe! They do exist!
