5943 TSW

What would you pay for a 5943 TSW from what i can see it is in excellent condition not sure how many mags with it. Keep in mind i live in Mass. Where everything is high. Local schop wants $650.00.

Personally I'd say yes if I wanted one but realize I prefer DAO handguns of any make over their DA/SA counterparts - a lot of people don't (for whatever reason). Also, the # mags will make a difference as will your reasons for wanting it, overall condition and like you stated, your state's goofy laws and their effects on prices. I'd want it to be pretty minty for that price. I think the 3rd Edition SCSW indicates MSRP on those was $900+ in 2001ish.

If you're looking for a sweet 9mm to use and enjoy go for it, if you think you'll be able to flip it then I don't think you'll get out of it what you'd have into it.

I would try to find out how long the shop's had it too. There was one dealer near me who'd practically sell DAOs for what they cost him because he simply couldn't move them at any kind of profit due to what I mentioned before, most folks seem to prefer DA/SA. Keeping how long they've had it and the fact DAOs just aren't popular in mind, they might work on the price if they can get rid of it.

Actually, I believe the 5943TSW is DAO, not TDA.

I have been dealing with this shop for a long time and i know he will give me abreak on the price if i am interested. I like the DA/SA, but recently have been liking the DAO. Ever since i picked up a 4043.

I got my hands on a 5943 about 4 years ago through a LGS. I too am from that same stupid effed up state. I paid $450 out the door, no box and 2 mags. It is and was in very good cond.

My bad it's a 5946 TSW with 2 ten round mags, in great shape but I passed on it.

I would go for it. I have been hunting DAO 3rd gennies for some time and they are difficult to come by. When was the last time you saw a 4583TSW for sale? How about a phosphated 5946TSW? I bought both as soon as I saw them. I'm still hunting a 4046TSW, a 4043TSW, and a 5943TSW. The DAO guns are really the rarer of the breed.

I have a ex Cleveland Ohio Pd 5943. (Traded in a *** P-1 for it), At first I did not like the DAO but I have fallen in love with it. It is my primary carry piece now. At the last show in Berea I saw one for sale for $650 and it was in very poor condition so I say go for it

Alluminum frame for the 5943, stainless frame for the 5946, otherwise identical.

Where abouts did you see this? I am also in Mass., so if you pass it up I might seriously consider it, if it is in as good of shape as you say.
