Recently purchased this 5946 from a local lgs. The price was $329. It was a basket case but toally mechanically sound and shot really well. I decided to give it a makeover. After god knows how many hours of Sanding and polishing, installing new hogues, and trijicon night sights I know have a finished product. In person it looks like nickel btw. I have $550 invested in this thing and that includes the price of buying 2 extra mags! I absolutely love this gun now. I wouldn't sell or trade it for anything, its with me for life! Lol

That my friend was the result of a lot of sandpaper 100 grit through 3000 grit followed by a little polishing with mothers. A lot of work on a gun that started with a blasted finish
That IS a very nice job there! As too the 5946; it is a workhorse if a service pistol, mine will give the local "plastic fantastic" crowd a bad day and it has NEVER MISSED A BEAT! Dale
