So I had a nice, but not pristine, 3rd Gen 5946 DAO Brinks 9mm. It needed some help so I went to BMCM and Bill took on the job. He asked if I wanted to do a bit of a conversion, from DAO to DA/SA, and I said, "Why not?" I have a plain-Jane 5906 but I figured if I could convert the DAO, it being a TSW, I'd have a better 5906 than the 5906 I own.

So I said yes and it arrived today. Here's some pics.

Range tomorrow and I'll add to this after a box or three of pellets.

He did a CS45 for me as well, and I can't see for the life of me why I'll ever carry anything else (except maybe a PC642 for my pocket. Or a CS9, 4513TSW or a Beretta PX4 compact or....damn, these things are addictive.)

Wow, what are the odds. I haven't shot the 5946TSW for twelve years so I took it out yesterday. Great pistol, smooth trigger, but I just can not get used to the reset. I have a habit of going to the first click and the trying the follow up shot with no joy. Then I remembered that I have to go out to the second click. Was trying to decide whether to sell it (LNIB) or convert it to TDA when I thought I would log in and do a search to see what parts are needed for the conversion and this thread was the first one that came up. I'm assuming needed parts would be safety/decocker lever assembly, hammer, and sear? Any other parts? If I can't source the parts, may I ask who BMCM is tgat you sent yours to? Thank you.

Thank you. I saw the first one you referenced, but maybe I ate too many lead paint chips as a kid, but it didn't make sense to me. The second one was much clearer. Now I just need to source the parts. Thank you once again.

Glock20man...BMCM is a member here and does a lot of work on Smith semi-autos from folks on this forum. I've had four or so guns done by him and his work is great, his prices are fair, and his turnaround is reasonable. Plus, he's a very nice fella, what more can you ask for?
I think you can just plug in his screen name and then PM him to contact.
