Continuing on a theme started by others, let’s see the S&W Model 625 today.!

While S&W chose to mark this one as a 625 and call it a Mountain Gun, it is my thought that the tapered barrel puts it in the 626 family but they did not ask me.

Colt saa, I always see something new in your posts - what are the bottom two pictures?

Those are terrible images of my 625 Lite Hunter and 625 Hunter. I actually just laid the revolvers on a flatbed scanner. I pulled them out last Saturday to re-photograph them. So those two images will magically update in about a week.

Those are both Performance Center offerings chambered for the 45 Long Colt cartridge.

The 625 Lite Hunter (SKU 170085) came into my local gun shop back in 1997. I thought it looked great and bought it instantly. I have always liked serial numbers. The serial number of the gun was CLT0003. I had the shop check with the Distributor to see of serial number CLT0045 was available. So I bought that one as well. I eventually traded off number 3, but number 45 will not be sold in my lifetime

The 625 Hunter (SKU 170081) was from a 1996 run that allegedly went over to Europe with about 50 pieces staying in the US. The Hunter comes with 5 weight and 5 spacers that fit into the underlug. This allows you to change the weight and balance of the firearm to your liking

It is no secret, on these pages, how much I favor a good .45 ACP revolver. The illustrated 625-8 JM Special is one of my all time favorite revolvers.

These days you will mostly find me on the range using a Mihec version of the H&G #68 (200 grs. SWC ahead of 4.0 grs. of Bullseye or equivalent). It seldom fails to satisfy!

My 625-3, which originally had a 4" barrel. I sent it back to S&W to have this 5 incher put on and had them do their Combat Revolver package at the same time.
