I bought one of these in the early 80s and don't even recall where it wound up. I moved on and either traded or sold it since money was tight and I made somewhere around 4 bucks an hour .

I decided it was time to replace it . Found this one a few days ago.

Have not gotten to shoot it yet , but maybe in the next couple of days.

Thanks for looking ,
Kirk

For some reason, the 6" guns don't get the love they deserve.

I had one exactly like that. I bought it new in 1980. Traded it a few years later on a Colt .45 ACP Government Model that I later sold. Oh, well...

I have had my 19-3 since new in 1973. Carried it hunting, shot 3 deer with it, and killed many attacking beer cans. I have a nylon padded holster that covers all but the grips, and can't think of a better field gun. Not as big and heavy as my model 29 (also 6") but very accurate and easy shooting. Love mine, and will never get rid of it.

Very nice!

I have a 2.5" and 4" M19, and obviously I need to start hunting for a 6"!

That's a real nice revolver you got there. Beautiful set of target grips, nice grain. Congrats !!

I had one that I bought in the 70s and loved it. Should have never sold it. I believe that I have just put a deal together on a 17-3 and matching 19-3 - Target grips, target hammer and target trigger. Both have original boxes. What does everyone think about a Model 66 as compared to the Model 19?

I've been eyeballin' 6" model 19's with the Patridge front sight as well. I like ramps for field use and as the eyes age I LOVE the red insert. But nothing like a Patridge setup on a 6" K-frame for fun at the range.

I've got a no dash 17 with a red insert Patridge front and a pre-model 27 that does as well. If I come across the same setup on a 19 that may be what pushes me over...

That is a beauty. I know the great feeling of replacing one that got away.

I had a 6" 19 with a ramp front sight, but it spit lead so bad it went down the road. Now you've got me thinking about finding another.

Enjoy!

Range report added

Here is a target at 15 yds with a 2 hand hold . The fliers are me without any doubt .

This was with my reloads which are 125 grn acme bullet over 3.8 grns of titegroup.

The 19 shoots excellent !

It has been a long time since I shot a 6 inch 38 ,forgot how much fun it really is !

I worked a little on the trigger / sear and replaced the return spring with a lighter one . It has an excellent single action very crisp and just below 3 lbs . Hey it even makes things go bang double action !

One happy camper here , like I'm in the eights again. :D:D
