....even a 5 shot--the cylinder diameter could be reduced to make it very concealable. Too bad the .327 doesn't seem to have caught on...

Maybe if you could get ammo, or even components to reload the thing it might of caught on. I sold a Ruger 101 in 327 mag simply because I could not get ammo for it. I bought a 101 in 357. Now that they make ammo for, same for components.

That's a chicken or egg question. Would the caliber have caught on if ammo had been plentiful and cheap? Who knows?
I think it's a cartridge with untapped potential as a defense round, and as a carbine round. A Marlin 94 in .327 would be a natural you'd think.

I present to you the S&W 632.

6 rounds of .327FedMag, 2-1/8" barrel, with night sights.

They also make a 632 Carry Comp which is a 3" barrel and blackened instead of bright stainless.

Right, but some of us don't like ported barrels.

Too many caliber/barrel length combos are only available in unaffordable high end models. If you can make it in a night guard, you can make it out of plain stainless for $400 less. - JM.

I am a big fan of the 327, along with the 32 H&R Magnum.
I bought my brass from Freedom Arms.
I have several molds but the shortage of the 115-grain Gold Dot bullet is a shame.
The 327 Carry Comp from Lipsey is close to what I want. I don’t want the port and have kept my wallet closed because of this feature. I don’t like the key and the MIM parts but I would buy the revolver without the port.
You are right about too many high-end guns and not enough shooting type guns. We need a few field guns in 327 Federal. Charter Arms got close with the 4” Target Patriot - I am not a fan of stainless steel for a field gun due to strong sunlight reflecting on the cheeks.
I bought the two big Rugers the Blackhawk and GP141 and they are good varminting guns but are too heavy for belt carry. A blue L-frame and a Kit Gun would sure be nice.

I'd like to see a scandium 327 6 shot J frame with a 1 7/8" barrel, basically a 340 M&P in 327.

I would like to see a three and four inch model 60 with both fixed and adjustable sights. I don't need ports, strange looking barrels, scandium, exciting finish or coatings, but I would like it satin or brushed instead of polished.

I agree.
If the new revolver has to be stainless then brushed or frosty. The polished stainless firearms cannot be used in the field. With the sun at your back, all you see is a ball of light.
We have the 3” full lug barrel Model 36 with adjustable sights and dull black finish. This is the revolver Terry Murbach dubbed the “Trail Masterpiece” as it is just about the perfect trail gun. This revolver in 327 Federal would be heavy enough to shoot well in the field.

We bought the 4” Charter Arms Patriot which is a good revolver for the price but comes up short of what a similar S&W would be. The Patriot functions well but the sights are poor. With gunsmithing it will make a reasonable trail gun.

If smith would make the 327 for the hunter they might get more sale as well. A K frame 6 inch SS with a standard bbl. Dont know why they insist on making ugly scalloped bbl's on there newer guns.

Speaking of Charter Arms- anyone shoot an Undercoverette

in .32 Magnum?
Seems like it might be a nice little pocket gun.
