I ran some rounds through my new Model 60 this afternoon. First some reloads. Ten rounds of 148 grain DEWCs and fifteen rounds of 158 grain Berry HC SWCs. I was satisfied, but not awed. I need to do some tweeking on these loads.
Twenty rounds of Winchester White Box, 130 grain FMJs. Not bad. Then eighteen rounds of Winchester White Box, 125 grain +P JHPs. Very accurate. I'm still smiling when I recall the results of the Winchester +Ps.
Things got ugly when I loaded up some .357 magnums. I fired ten rounds of American Eagle 158 grain JSPs. WOW! Recoil was stiff! A couple of rounds didn't stay on the 8.5x11" sheet of paper, at 25 feet. Practice is obviously needed.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the Model 60. I plan to carry it around the property and in the woods, loaded with two rounds of rat shot, followed with three rounds of .38 Special +P, HPs. The size of this revolver fits me much better than the 4" GP100, that I'm now selling. I'm undecided on choosing a holster. I like the Simply Rugged Silver Dollar and the DeSantis, that is offered on the S&W site.
