I was hoping to have my 610 no dash converted to 10mm magnum. Can anyone recommend a smith that can do this conversion. Thanks for your help.

I've done it, and don't recommend it. Dave Clements Clements Custom Guns did the (excellent) work on a spare cylinder, so I didn't have to alter mine. He was cheaper than Bowen. Load data are available here Taffin Test the 10 mm Magnum and http://www.accuratepowder.com/data/...40Cal(10mm)/10mm Magnum pages 124 and 125.pdf , that I know of anyway. What the magnum gives you is greater case capacity, which allows you to stuff more bulky, slow powder in there. I never could get performance better than regular 10mm with Taffin's or AA's data, and lost my nerve. I figure it takes X pressure to get Y performance, and I wasn't willing to go that high. I sold that cylinder on this forum. Maybe it's still floating around somewhere.

I have done as much searching as I can for information regarding the subject and have read of other (or it might have been you) who have said the gains are not worth it. I more want to do it for the novelty of it more than anything else. I think it would supplement my dw 357 maximum well. Thanks for the suggestions on the smith, I will send an email out after the holidays.

I have a 610 that I reamed out to 10mm Mag, I've never finished the load development but I like it if for nothing more than the cool factor. If I remember correctly I got the best performance with Blue Dot but there was a helluva muzzle flash, it was somewhere between a 10mm and a 41 Mag. I rented the reamer from 4-D, you can Google it and contact them if you want to do it yourself. I still have the fixture I built to hold the cylinder and ream it, you can do it on a drill press if it will turn slow enough, probably less than 100 rpm. You have to be absolutely sure the spindle is square to the table before you start. You can borrow the fixture if you want to tackle it and I might be able to find my load data.
