I just received one of my Grail guns. Bought it from a fellow forum member (thank you Digital_Revolver).

Very nice shape with a superb balance. Looking forward to some range time.

"Limited production of 4,560 circa 1989 1992" From S&W catalog. They came out in two barrel lengths, 5" & 6.5".

From my observations, I would assume there were fewer 5" guns manufactured. Anyone have the numbers? How many 5" guns were manufactured compared to the 6.5"

Now to fined a nice set of Combat Stock.

Those early 5" 610s are beauties. I don't know the total produced in each barrel length, but I had two of the early 5" guns like yours back around '90/'91. Couple of the best revolvers I ever owned. But at different times, I sold or traded each on some long forgotten shiny object. I thought they would always be available; wrong again;)

One of my 610s is a 5"--the other is a 4". I love them both and I'm certain that you will love yours.

Get a good moonclip loading tool, because loading the clips by hand is a very tedious, tiring process.

5” ND

I’ve got two 5” ND’s and two 6.5” ND’s. The 5” balances better than the 6.5”, but they’re both fun shooters. I put a scope on one of my 6.5’s and reamed it out to 10mm Magnum. It’s a lot of fun when I can get it to a range that’ll let me stretch its legs.

Very cool, love that speed loader rack!

Companion gun

My interest in the 10mm started with semi-autos, not a surprise. And as a matter of course that naturally lead to, gotta have a revolver. Anyway I wanted to show off a bit with a picture of my companion gun to the 610. A Tanfoglio Limited Master 10mm. THis is a SAO and super fun gun to shoot.

Now all you need is a 3" and a 4".

I've been hanging on to one of each! A preowned 610-2
A NIB 610 6 1/2 inch
A NIB 610 5 inch, this one is RARE
I haven't been looking at prices, and am curious. What do you guys think for the NIB's? I'm keeping the 3 7/8 pre lock 610

I see a 6.5" no dash w/box sell on line recently for $1926, A dash-1 for $1429. You have to consider these are auctions with additional fees to take into account.

I think the 5" ND should bring a premium but I'm a little bias. If I was buying a ND 5" ANIB I'd be very happy at $1500. But the 5" is hard to find and 10mm is becoming more and more popular so you could probably get more than that. JMHO

I've only seen 2 5" NIB 610's, one of which I bought from the same person that had the NIB 6 1/2 610. The other 5 "one went instantly for $2500, maybe 5 years ago. I have a few local guys interested that would be easier than GB for sure, and I've never bought or sold a gun on the forum.
