610 prelock finally in my collection

Joe,
The recruits were not the problem. I won't go into that since there are many threads here on the Forum that cover it.

The FBI DID adopt the full power, 190 grain, 10MM Auto cartridge for many of it's Elite units. This is both in pistol and SMGs. I fell in love when the MP5/10s arrived in the Miami Office.

Mine is pictured with a Full auto fire control group in place of the burst fire group that the FBI adopted

These are still in service with Federal Law Enforcement to this day. They are just now seeking RFPs for replacement of the aging HKs.

The 10MM Magnum cartridge is the ballistic equivalent of the 41 Magnum. A 6 1/2" Model 610 is quite pleasant to shoot in that chambering

It is quite a handfull in the 2 1/2" Scandium framed Model 310NG

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS INFO, AND THE PICS. I WAS IMAGINING THAT THE 10MM MAGNUM ROUND MIGHT BE MORE POWERFUL THAN STOUT .44 MAGNUM ROUNDS.....

I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THE VERY IMPRESSIVE LOOKING CARTRIDGE IS MERELY THE EQUIVALENT OF A .41 MAGNUM......

Depending on projectile weight, the 10MM Magnum cartridge yields 250-600 FPS gain over the 10MM Auto cartridge.

The 10MM Magnum cartridge was designed for the Auto Mag IV. As an auto loading cartridge it had some limitations in it's power window.

John Taffin wrote a nice article about the cartridge about a quarter of a century ago . . . WOW how time passes
