617-1 Value?

I'm considering selling my six inch, 617-1 to fund the purchase of a Randolph front rest.
I am the original owner and the revolver is in excellent shape.
It has the Hogue rubber grips.

I have 2 questions:
What would you estimate it to be worth?
Did the -1 come with wooden combat grips as an option?

The 617-1 was made approximately 1994-1996. It was the first dash number to come stock with synthetic grips. You can surf the major gun auction sites for a fine tuned value but I would venture it's worth in the $600-$800 range.
That said, I'd think long and hard about selling it off as it won't be easy or cheap to replace.

Welcome! The very early 617-1s had the wood Combat stocks; I think I have seen a few for sale with those stocks, but of course they could have been replacements.

The front rest device looks very nice in their website, but you must be a very dedicated bench rest shooter to give up a really nice S & W revolver for it :). Good luck in your decision.
