Picked up a 617-1. The 3 alpha characters are CBD which I am guessing would be a 1996. Would the case be the blue plastic case or the one piece box, and if so what would be in the case or box?

Blue plastic boxes were used in 1996 but my dash 1 with BDR prefix was from late 1995 and came in the blue plastic box.

My 617-1 was made in February of 1996 and came with the blue plastic box as shown by 1911-10MM. Mine came with Hogue rubber grips and the cylinder release button was of the sloped design. I would love to have had the wood Smith & Wesson combat grips used earlier, but I put Hogue wood grips on mine to suffice.
