617 8 3/8"

I love the long tube Smiths. I have a 617 and I think it is a perfect companion to the 686... 686-3 on the top and 617-4 (10-shot) on the bottom

I really like the Thai grips that I put on them - makes it easier to manage that front-end extra weight.

As to the prices on GB - I think anything more than $1,200 is way too high for any 617.

My very favorite .22 revolver is an 8 3/8" 617. It has many hunting successes on small game! Squirrels and rabbits mostly. Lots of carry time. And great Silhouette gun, too. Scores aren't that much less than with a Freedom Arms .22. (FWIW, one of our late great local IHMSA shooters scored a perfect 80 at one of the IHMSA Internationals some time back with another 617.)

Paying over $2k for one though? Nah
