617 No Dash

I "borrowed" this pic from Gunbroker but the one I bought looks exactly like this one.

Any comments? Are they any good?

I think I got a good deal. We'll see how it shoots.

Mine was bought new and I paid $350 for it. I can't wear it out.
Who knows how many thousands of 22s went down it's barrel. I almost traded it a few times, but I kept it and shot it some more. Only thing I don't care for is it's heavy for a 22. It is what it is.

I think you will be some what happy with yours....

Got me an 8 3/8 and love it. That is a long barrel and most seem to like the shorter ones.

Worked on mine today. I found that it had a floating hand. It has a little hitch in the double action, probably from the hand. I did not have one to replace it with, so had to put it back in. Otherwise, it shoots pretty good.

An early square butt 617 no dash. Good gun for stomping around the desert. Have hunted rocks, cans and wild desert lizards. It is at its best as a short range desert golf gun. Sort of like a wedge or putter. Shoot the golf ball 6 times and then hit it with a bigger driver. Sometimes golf balls go away. Here is a pic of it just in from the range and lots of grit and dirt.

The long range driver for desert golf is a .30 Cal. M1 Garand.

Nice looking 617... I have 3 of them 2 4in and 1 6in all no dashes and a 17-6 6in which is basically a blue 617 no dash.. So ya "I" like em !!

K-frame .22s are works of art that are just plain old fun to shoot.
I`ve spent many weekend afternoons kicking around tin cans with the ones below.
A 617, a 17-4, and a 18-2.

I have a 4" no dash 617, which I bought new, and it's one of My favorite and most used revolvers.

Also, have a (circa 1968) 6" bbl model 17 full house (TT-TH-TG) which also frequents the range.

I'd love a full house (TT-TH) 617 no dash in 6 inch bbl or preferably 8-3/8", though I have to direct My funds towards other things at the moment.

I have a 617-1 4". A fabulous gun, unfailingly accurate with anything I put through it. In the 5 years I've owned it it's fired about 10,000 rounds without a hitch. It still looks and runs like new.

I also used to own a 617 no dash 6". I sold it to finance another gun-related project and there are times when I wish I hadn't. It was hands down the most accurate handgun I've ever owned.

Yup, I have a 686 Plus, 625-8, 19-2, and 642.
