Does anybody know if speed loaders were ever made for 617 22 cal revolvers? Thanks. Neil

Do they make one for the 317, eight shot 22s?

Edit. I just checked the Speed Beez site and they do make one for the 317.

Along with speedloaders, there's another product of possible interest to 617 owners, the 10-round .22 rimfire "speedstrip" offered by Tuff Products. A few years ago, I tried to order their .44 Mag speed strips from their website, which had some glitch that foiled my on-line order attempt, so, I phoned them instead, and ended up having a chat with the owner. Turned out we had some acquaintances in common, and, one thing leading to another, he asked for product suggestions, and among mine was the above-mentioned .22 strip. While we were talking, he asked where he might find the correct spec for center-to-center chamber spacing. I happened to have a 617 at hand, measured it, and gave him the critical dimensions to fabricate the mould, and now, there you have it! These are great --- slip a couple, almost unnoticed into shirt pocket, or the accessory pocket in a Wilderness Safepacker holster, into the watchpocket of your jeans, or into Tuff's belt pouch.

Hmm. I know a machinist, that looks sweet. I wonder if I wanted 1, would he... Hmm.

I recently learned of these thru this forum on another 617 thread, so I PM'd the fella on what brand of speedloader. Lot of helpful folks round here. Methinks I'm stickin around. :)

Neil, yes, speed loaders were made for 617 22 cal revolvers. 317 as well, & since I recently got a 2" 317, w/. plans to get a 3" 317 & a 4" 617 as well, I knew I was gonna need somethin.

Does your 617 load easily after a couple of cylinders full have been fired?
My 17 and 34 foul so badly after a few rounds that a speed loader would never work. Changing ammo doesn't help.

Hi Neal,
If you are looking for a 617 10 shot speed loader you are in luck. I have bought everyone on the market and I finally found one that works "all the time." The speed loader is made by Ansac and sold by Shooters Connection in Georgetown KY. This is the only place that I have found them so far. They are expensive but they work. North Mountain has made single and multiple speed loader holders, which work quite well. You can move the speed loader holders from the bottom to the top which make them quick to access. If you are shooting a gun you can figure this out. Shooters Connection has a You Tube clip on the speed loader and a picture of the speed loader holder.

Hope this Helps

A pic of Ansac Speedloader and North Mountain

Here is the single North Mountain with the Ansac Speedloader. The 5 gang is reversed so that my large hands can get access to them. They come with the speed loader holders mounted on the bottom. I put Ansac's name on it. It doesn't come with the lettering.
The singles have Teclocs on the back for attaching to your belt.
In our area we require speed reloads at our Steel Matches.
See the video that Ansac puts out at Shootersconnection.com/revolver
about the function of the Speed loader.
