Updating my 617. I received the Wiegand mini mount, and installed that and a Burris Fastfire 3. Sighted in then shot 3, 10 shot groups. 2 groups with CCI Mini Mag copper plated round nose, and 1 group with Federal Auto Match 40 grain. I had a little bit of "follow the bouncing ball", but held it relatively still for the most part. I'm liking this so far.

Looks like you have it dialed in pretty good. The 617s are a pure pleasure to shoot. The gun I have fired the most in the past year has been my 617-5 6". I started out with an Ultradot but soon went with a Vortex Venom and Allchin base. Shoots really well with CCI std. vel. and Mini Mags. Also have a 617-1 but the newer gun is a far better shooter.

Congratulations. Looks like you've got it dialed in. I sight in at 7 yards and set it to 1 inch under the spot. That puts me dead on at 15 and just about perfect at 25.

There is a different technique to shooting with red dots. somewhere in the “incurable parkinsons figure 8 pattern”you will find your rhythm pattern and will know when to break the shot.
IMO better for fast two eye open reflex shooting not surgical precision.
I leave irons on my revolvers for this reason.
Cheers
