617's made for Ashland

A couple recently sold on GB.

$3,890.00 for a four incher, sn #BHP7355, Product Code 100563.

$3,575.00 for the six incher, sn #BEJ3961, Product Code 100565.

Auction ended 4/29/2017.

So, it's that current for at least two of the 316 total combined barrel lengths.

That would explain why I never saw one! Thanks for the education.

I don't own one but, when I first received my 617 I found the underlug to be both heavy and useless so, I cut it off. Left the front ejector rod stop cut flat to avoid any confusion with Ashlands model.

Steve,
My compliments on some very nice machine work on that barrel!

I have access to a milling machine and have considered a similar mod to my 617 6". Was this a DIY project, and if so, do you have any tips that you can pass along?

Thanks,
Lou

Actually, used a hacksaw, files and dremmel tool then different grades of emory cloth to do the work in a basement shop?
