There was an older thread similar to this posted last year. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased one since then and what they think of it. I love mine (w/.38

Hi, I do not like the 2 piece barrel construction on the 619/620. A-lot of people here feel the same way. then again all the new night guards and other light weight frame guns are being made with the 2 piece barrel.

My wife bought me a 620 for Christmas. I love it. It is nicely balanced, deadly accurate, and has a great trigger both SA and DA. I personally don't care about the 2 piece barrel and internal lock- it works, and I like it. That is all that matters to me.

Great gun!

+1 vcs700s. As soon as it gives me any trouble, I'll sell it and buy something else. I know there are others that have this gun. Speak up, don't be ashamed!

I've had my M620 for close to four years now. It is the gun I take when I go on a road trip, hike, camp, or any other time I just want a gun on my side. I had a M19-6 before this M620 and there is a lot of difference between the two (MIM parts, two piece barrel, lock, hammer mounted firing pin, blued compared to SS). Most of that if not all of it doesn't really mean a lot to me. My foremost purpose is that the gun is reliable and performs well and it does. The M19-6 was one of those that developed the proverbial crack in the forcing come at the 6:00 position and S&W replaced it with this M620. As a replacement it has served me well. I don't shoot it a ton like some guys who are in competition do so it will probably go to one of my family members when I am gone.

I'd like to try my 620 at IDPA but I can't seem to find any holsters or speedloaders.
I'd sure appreciate any tips and/or links.

Thanks for any help.

I have some speedloaders from HKS that work great. I had a tough time finding a holster too but ended up with a Galco Fletch. It keeps the gun real close to my side- I like it!

Here's one I had done, with a bit of custom work and a Karl Nill grip put on it.

I even had the local gunsmith do something that I had only seen on some custom single actions- cut two lines on the cylinder. One line is where the "drag mark" would regularly be, and the other one is just in front of the stop notches.
I also added the fiber optic sight and V-notch rear, and had S&W do an action job on it.

I just need to have it sent out for moonclips.
Or have a 6-shot unfluted cylinder fitted to it so I may use it in IDPA. (It's nearly impossible to use a 7rd. gun in IDPA!)

I think it looks sharp, but thats just my opinion.

Likestoshoot,
The 619/620 series are L-frames.
Any 4" 686/586 holster will fit it.
HKS 586-A speedloaders will fit it also.
Or, you may can find Safariland speed loaders, which are my preference.
