624 -- 2 Inch?

I have an opportunity to buy a 624 with a 2 inch barrel. I googled for it but can't find any info specific to the 2"er. Can anyone here fill me in? Thanks--nashtn

There never was a M624 with a barrel shorter than 3".
The M624 is an N-Frame .44 Special. Could you possibly mean a M642? That is a J-Frame .38 Special, usually encountered with a 2" barrel.

P&R: Thanks for the info. The item was listed, on GB, as a Model 624, with a 2 " barrel and, in the closeup shots, 44 special was printed on the barrel.

But, it is all a moot point as the item has sold already!

I saw it. It was a 624 Lew Horton Variant. Guy selling must have measured Barrel from frame not from the face of the cylinder. Good price on it. Sold for 750 buy it now.

I think that model came in 3, 4 and 6 inch barrels only. My guess is that the seller is not measuring the barrel properly.

A revolver barrel is measured from the face or front of the cylinder to the end of the barrel.

I went back and looked at the link, and that is a 3 inch. The listing is wrong.

It's a 3 inch. And I think a good buy. You would need some orig combats to make it pure. But for 750. It's a hell of a shooter.
