Howdy folks. can someone help out a semi auto.

I have a 625-3 4" that I am thinking about trading in the near future. its just sitting and I want something else.

I had sent it off to SW for an action job when I first got it and I was going to use it for target shooting and SW installed a taller rear blade and a TALL front blade.

I want to put the original rear blade on and the origninal front ramp.

Since I have never monkeyed with a rear revo sight, I recall reading you have to break the screw.

can someone provide a link or instructions to replace the rear sight blade?

also do I need to buy any rear sight parts to put the original rear blade back on?

I think the front blade should be easy by drifting the pin. Can someone confirm 1/16" punch or thinner?

thanks in advance

Hi, If you call S&W you can order the rear sight screw and locking cap...You will need a scredriver and punch to seal the end of the open cap to disfigure the screw to hold it in place...By the way what are you decide to trade what would you be looking for?

thanks panama

I want a hard to get

Springfield Armory 9mm 1911 target.

Springfield cannot tell me a release date but they build them 3 times a year. I heard on another forum that the wait is about 6 months.

I really want a RRA Police 9mm PPC but I need to win the lotto and wait about a year to 15 months.

i just bought a 625-3 4" last month. i am getting ready to change the sights to something i can see better. don't know what you have, but i would most likely trade my stock sights for yours,if interested. that way you can just change the whole rear assembly, not just the blade. lightly punch and wiggle the front,it will come right out. thanks, jon [email protected]

I found it on FAQ. I did not know that post exsisted. I only play on semi page.

Removing Rear Blade

To swap the rear blade:

When changing the rear blade on S&W revolvers, turn the windage screw clockwise until the screw breaks. Then remove the nut by unscrewing if from the base. Use a plastic bag to catch the tiny spring and plunger that is located inside the screw head.

Reinstall the parts and tighten the retaining nut fully then back it off ¼ turn. Use the stacking tool and crimp the nut. Job done!

slowplay SW installed a taller rear all black blade and a tall post up front. I do have the original sights. I could not get them to zero as it was put on for 50 yd shooting. I just never put any time behind them to zero. probably needed to file down the front as I tested.

moonclip loading is not for me.

thanks in advance

no biggie,i am really looking for a taller front to use with a millet rear that is just sitting around.thanks. by the way,a buddy of mine has been talking to me about selling his SA 9mm target, checkered frontstrap, polished, rosewood? grips and i think he said 8 'tuned' mags. very sweet ride. don't know exact price, but it was HHHigh!

Smaller diameter - S&W "usually" uses 0.055", but it might have been altered to 0.0625" - for some reason.

Always best to start with a pin punch that you KNOW is smaller than the hole.
