625-6 Mountain Gun 45 acp

Here is a recent addition (629-3). At least it came with some pretty grips.
Unfortunately in the PRK, prices are about running 20% higher than other markets in the country for pre-lock models.

The Mountain Gun series is probably the best series of guns Smith ever made and the .45 ACP the best caliber of the series so you now own the Best of the Best....

Besides .45 ACP and +P if you talk to the guys at Buffalo Bore you'll find a lot of shooters use their .45 Super ammo in currently made Smith 625s.

I've had three over the years but because I am mainly a .41 Shooter have sold them off... The last one went last years with box and paperwork for about $1200 after I picked up a 625-7 Performance Center 5"...

$800 is a GREAT deal....this one just sold for a lot more...

I called Smith and Wesson when I got my M625-8 to see if it could handle a steady diet of .45Supers... 255grain Hard Casts loaded to 1100fps is what Buffalo Bore and Underwood loads their pills to. The Smith rep said it will certainly handle it. I then talked to Tim Sundles via email (owner of Buffalo Bore) he said the 625 N frame can shoot his .45Supers and .45Auto-Rims forever. I put at least 500 of Buffalo Bore and Underwood's Supers thru mine before I sold it to my brother and she shot them well, no problems with those loads! I think I paid $900 out the door for the M625-8 so yeah, $800 for a true Mountain Gun series gun is priced about $200 low and I'd certainly would buy it OP! The Mountain Gun makes for a nice "Woods-Gun" with the aforementioned Hard Cast Keith loads from Underwood and BB.
Here is a pic of mine before I sold it to my brother! I put about 1500 .45ACP's and +P's and around 500 .45Supers. Good guns!
