625 front sight

just got my front sight in the mail today had some time for pix ..

tap out the roll pin with a .046 drill bit also know as #53

then you put the new sight in its spring loaded in there, so i push the sight on the roll of tape so it moves towards the grips and push the pin back in

To change out the front blade on the gun you have all you need to do is push the sight blade towards the cylinder until it stops, lift up the front(area nearest the muzzle) and pull the sight away from the base. It'll be stiff. That pin is there to hold the sight in place once the hook in the sight bottom engages the pin. To put a different blade in just insert the rear of the blade first, push toward cylinder, push the front part of blade down into the base and release. It'll work the way you've done it but a lot of work that's unnecessary since it's designed to be changed without tools. The 629 Classics are made the same way.

) that's how you learn and if you've never had experience with that type of Smith front sight it would be easy to NOT know. Now go out there and burn powder!
