I regularly check the local paper's classified ads for firearms. Yesterday I spotted an ad for a S&W 627. I got lucky and was the first call and the first to the seller's house.

The lock-up is fantastic, the single action is surprising, the double action stacks heavily, It's missing the box, but I bought it from the original owner.

I'm taking it out this weekend.

It sounds like the "floating hand" may be causing the hitch in the double action squeeze. Have any of you ever swapped those parts?

You got an excellent deal on that gun, congratulations! Considering the Combat grips typically sell for $200 or more, you have $350 or less into a limited run stainless .357 N frame! ;)

Exceptional deal on an exceptional firearm! Congrats!!

I've got one I bought brand new in 1989. You can see the price I paid for back then:

Great revolver and great snag! Mine is smooth as silk and accurate as heck.

That is a $1000.00 dollar gun all day keep a look out for them not offered very often and I just paid $1100.00 for mine I hope that helps you feel that you did well

You stole that one!!

I had one and it was a great shooting gun and second only to the RM I had.

Ditching the floating hand will most likely cure your hitch in the double action. That is my first order of business on any gun I find with the floating hand.

If you're going to shoot it you'll find it is one heavy son-of-a-gun. That makes it very comfortable for hot loads and heavy loads. Be a burden to carry all day though.

Those stocks are a cult favorite for us S&W freaks. Many find them less useful for shooting the gun. Good Pachmayrs work for me.

Great find!!
