high, does anyone have any info on the 627-3 in 38 super. if there were any other 38 super moon clipped revolvers? it is an 8 shot. thanks in advance for any help.

They were made in 2002. The product code number is 170205. The moon clips can be purchased from S&W or Brownells. They also made a S&W PC in the 686 in 2002 that was a 6 round 38 super 4" barrel product code is 170225.

The 627 .38 Super is incredible in terms of handling and accuracy....It has a removable muzzle port for IPSC, but with the port in place is remarkably fast.

I purchsed both the S&W 627 and 686 in 38 Super. I regret selling the 627. You can purchase the moonclips for the 8 shot 38 Super from Ranch Products for ca. $75 per 100.
You didn't mentioon price or condition? The last one I saw advertized was in the $1500 range. A friend of mine bought one for a bit less to use at the Masters.

There is one on Gunbroker right now for $998.00 and it includes a lot of extras.
thanks for the info guys. i saw one at a show this weekend. unfired, original owner. case and 2 extra grips. a nice wood set and a the original set. he would take 1250 cash. i didn't have it , of course, but i am trying to sell a 329 and a shorty fourty if anyone is interested. thanks again

I see you found that 38 super I told you about. If I were not already S&W poor I would have liked that one too.
