Guys, picked up a 627-3 PC. NIB (pc case)with all the trimmings. Serial number is CNC 0111. Is this anything special? It is the new frame. Can’t find too much on the dash 3 out there. Thanks.

When you say "all the trimmings" did you get the cardboard box that the PC case came in? The end label will be on there. If not the Performance Center usually places a duplicate end label in the Aluminium case under the foam.

We can tell you a bit more if you provide the 6 digit product code off that label, there will also be a 4 digit SPEC ORD number. The SPEC ORD number is the date of manufacture but it is in Julian format.

Posting pictures will also aid in your cause

Production side Engineering Revisions do not always coincide with the Performance Center Engineering Revisions. I do not recall off the top of my head what was changed on the PC side with the 627's 3rd Engineering Revision

Thank you Colt saa for your response. I don’t have the gun in my possession yet but will see if I can get that information in the mean time. I recall seeing a post where someone mentioned the CNC serial sequence but cannot find it now. But, no outer sleeve as you mention. I forgot about that. I will ask the current owner regarding the duplicate label. Much appreciated.

You might be recalling my comments on the semi-pinto that Accusport produced in 2004. Those revolvers started the CMC prefix

CNC serial prefix if I can recall correctly belongs to a 627-3 Performance Center 5 inch tapered barrel 8 shot revolver. Between the no dash and dash 3 around 1200 or so made and were distributed by Lew Horton. Should be matt stainless steel with the sides of barrel high polished and gold bead front sight and altamont combat grips. The no dash version was matt finish with cylinder flats and barrel flats high polished. They are awesome shooters. Enjoy.

Thanks for this Eric. You are spot on with the configuration of the -3 in what I have bought. But, help me understand, how many -3's do you think were made and were they all CNC serial numbers? Thanks again.

Is that a Fusion rear sight? OEM?
Fusion sells these sights, they do not make them. LPA in Italy is the manufacturer

My revolver is wearing a set of the LPA 3 dot Fiber Optic sights. The rear sight mounts to the 3 scope holes on a D&T frame. The front sight on mine is from SDM and drops right in to the IFS slot on the barrel. I believe that LPA offers the set with a front sight for the pinned in style base

Here is a view of the sights from the back end. The second black fluted cylinder that was added for this revolver is chambered in 9x23 Winchester and naturally all of the shorter cartridges also fire in it
