just purchased subject piece w/ autographed tri-color wood grips by Jerry Miculek. Besides being a joy at the range (i don't use the grips)i was wondering if anyone knew the approximate value of an autographed S&W V-Comp? I am new here at this forum and new to S&W. This revolver has brought me back to wheel guns for good! Thanks..............

I have one - LNIB but missing the wood grip as the original owner hated it. I traded a LNIB Heritage 24 for it three plus years ago - and felt great about the deal. I was offered $1k last year - in cash - for it, and declined. I asked for $1200 - they declined. I have a 627 Pro as well, bought new 5/08, with a great trigger - the JM PC627 V-Comp is better, even if I like the new one better and use it all of the time. I have been tentatively offered $1150 - and am 'considering it'. Keep in mind mine doesn't have the OEM JM grips - just some current ones - and no signature, either.

Value is established by what the market will bear - and what the buyer can come up with. I have a nice mix of S&W revolvers now, but that 627-3 is my finest. I have no current 'gotta haves', so I'll likely not sell mine for even the $1200 - your's certainly should be worth more. My two 627's are pictured below:

The Heritage 24 I traded for my 627-3 was $599 new from CDNN a few years earlier... they had great deals there, once upon a time.

My 627 Pro was more - $709 last year - but still a deal. It has a larger hammer and trigger than my older 627 - I find that odd - but nice. Love that 627 Pro - especially it's spring-loaded front sight. Incidently, I ordered the Miculek grip for the 627 Pro, but after trying the Ahrends Retro Targets on my new 617 last fall, I elected to get a pair for my 627. Perfection. Tried them on the 627-3 - ho hum. Then - the Miculek grip on the 627-3 - again, perfection! If you have the Miculek grips for your 627-3 - and they are sitting in a dark drawer, get them out and try them. Yeah, I've seen the tri-colored ones - gawdy - but comfortable - and a fast and non-fidgety grab. Probably miserable with a real recoil, however.

Stainz: I have the same V-Comp (upper one in pic). My barrel is marked V8. Is that one marked the same????
