I've found a 627-3 I'm thinking about purchasing. It's a 2 5/8 inch. I have confirmed that is a Lew Horton distributed model. It's in the original alluminum performance center box with 2 moon clips and paperwork. Serial # jbs00XX. Whats a good price for this gun?

Yes $3k could happen..but that would be determined BUYERS..
I got one of the 657 UDR.. 1 of 161.. unfired complete..paid $1200 and stole it for that..

It's the difference between the Armslist ad with a couple fuzzy cellphone pics and "plz buy my gunn i need chld supprt $$$" and a detailed Gunbroker (or S&W Forum, natch) listing with 20 pictures and a bit about the history and rarity of the gun. Any doofus can go down to Moe's Gun Barn and get a 627-5 UDR, it's aiming the gun at loads of collectors willing to break the bank.
I actually called about a Stealth Hunter he had..when I called he told me about the 657...
Tires were smokin' out the driveway..

I passed on one of these (the 657 prelock) for $1400 about 5 years ago. Probably a mistake, but I had just bought my 624 3" and was strapped.
