627-5PC Snub

I picked up this one a few days ago. It had been sitting in the gun library of the local Cabelas for a couple of months. The gun was listed as used but to me looks like it had not been fired outside the factory.

Forged flash-chromed hammer and trigger. Barely visible turn line on cylinder. Fired shell case envelope was dated 15 March 2010. After all was said and done my cost out the door was $695, give or take a couple of pennies.

Should be a fun shooter.

If the barrel is on straight and the cylinder gap is good I definitely would of bought it at that price .

Those are great fun to shoot!! Great find at a reasonable price, especially from Cabela's. You will be surprised how comfortable those grips are to shoot! I have tried other grips, but went back to the original on mine.

Great price! I paid full MSRP for the same gun at Cabelas about 3 years ago. $1200 Love the buttery smooth trigger. The fit of Eagle grips left a lot to be desired so I replaced them with some spegel’s. The cylinder started to show a lot of holster wear so I had H&M black nitride it. I also installed a fixed rear sight from D&L.

Hi Coastie! I recently picked up the same item from the pro shop at my range/club. It was sitting there for months, looking forlorn. I finally bought it; I forget the price. Wonderful gun as to fit and finish. It is not, however, the same as my 627 Pro Series, which item has astounded me.

I must be living right, as my last 3 magnum purchases: two 627s and the 686 have displayed fine QC and function. Darken ship, Coastie.

I have the same gun also shipped in 2010.

Mine has the solid back forged trigger instead of the hollow back MIM trigger.

Which trigger does yours have?

I'm curious when the PC 627 switched to MIM as all the recent PC guns I've seen are MIM.

Thanks all. Regarding the trigger, its forged. Hammer also, which was a surprise since the gun has the lock and frame mounted firing pin. I'm not sure when the change occurred on PC guns but I have a 625-8PC manufactured in January 2013 with a MIM trigger and hammer.

FYI, B/C gap measured .005". I'm still on the fence regarding the grips but am reserving judgement until after I get a chance to shoot it.

Revisiting this thread, I just purchased a brand new 627-5 PC. It's pretty cool. I'm happy I bought it. Nowadays you don't see too many of these come up for sale. One of my local gun stores just got it in.

Now I have the very close to exact gun Clint used in the movie Blood Work....
