I have been trying to price a S&W 627 PC 8 times, but unable to find it. The pistol is flawless, never been fired outside the factory, comes with the original box. It is before the lock on the side and comes with original wood grips. I have been wanting to buy one for a while but wanted one without the lock. This is the first one I have seen for sell without the lock. Any insight would be a big help.

Thanks

I'm a dealer, but if I could find one of the 627PC w/ 5" barrel, matte SS finish & interchangeable frt sight it would be $950 NIB

The 627 Pro Series w/ 4" barrel &matte SS finish is $750 NIB

They would both be new production, S&W might have a lock on them...

My 627 V8 PC is one of 2 favorite range guns for speed steel etc.

I had to give around $900 for it 3 years ago with the metal case.

It's not for sale at twice what I paid.

I bought mine brand new and I paid a $1000 for it, after sales tax. They're not cheap.

I'm a little miffed because I see them at gun shows from time to time and the $900 figure seems to be the asking price.

Just to make everyone feel better, I paid $1,129 + tax.

Of course, it's the new model without the internal lock.

John

P.S. Kidding about the lock

Are you referring to the 2.6" UDC snubby or the 5" revolver ? Without the lock, & if the snubby please give us the first 3 letters of the serial number. A 5" one was sold over on the for sale forum for around $1,300 a few days ago.

These were fairly expensive when they were brand new. I paid $909.30 out the door for mine in December, 1997.

And that was back in the day when a dollar was still worth 15 cents...

I would believe that a new, unfired, pre-lock gun in the original box in original condition would easily cost more than $1,000.00. The current lock guns are almost that much.

I've been wondering the same thing about mine. It is a Performance Center pre-lock by RSR Exclusive. Low serial #CFL0117.

Any opinions? THX.

If you found one, I'm not sure why you are asking about price. They do not show up very often and if that is what you want, just pay up. I looked for several years fo one and when one appeared here, I just ponyed up the $1000 asking price and moved on. It was a good decision, its a really fine gun. You didn't mention asking price.

Nice looking shooter. I have been looking for one of these for a while and have not found one for sale. Either a VComp or an 8 Times without the lock.

I have the 3" V Comp 8 shot without the lock. Came in the Performance Center aluminum case. I havn't seen another 3" V Comp since buying mine.

Six months ago I bought a 5" 627-PC (made 1998), unfluted cylinder, original wood grips, no box, no papers, less than 100 rds. fired, in excellent condition for $750.

I don't know how worthwhile that price is as I suspect that was a good price I lucked into.

Spoken like a true poet!! You are very lucky to have the opportunity to buy that revolver so if you have the funds, take advantage of the situation. What is the seller asking for it?

I bought a 5" 627 Performance Center .357 8 Times six weeks ago, brand spanking new, never fired, in the aluminum case with both sets of grips and moonclips for $680.

I'd been shopping them on Gunbroker and GunsAmerica for six months, and never found one for less than $1,065. Most were around $1,180 and came in the blue plastic case. Mine was manufactured in 2009 and has been sitting in a safe ever since.

The guy bought two of them - he shoots one weekly and never broke the other one out of the safe. He needed some cash and sold it to me at cost. It is my absolute favorite gun to shoot, and I exercise it a couple times each week!
