I purchased a TK Custom Extended firing pin for my 627PC. Should be a 10 minute job to replace it. Then I found the retaining pin is drilled down from the top under the rear sight, and three different gun smiths have never seen this and don't know how to remove the retaining pin. Gun was built in 1998. There not built they was now.
Any help would be great.

I haven't seen one of those, but it seems likely that you could remove the rear sight and turn the gun upside down and dump it out. It should be a loose slip fit.

Can't find anyone that has seen one like this. They changed the location to under the side plate on later models. No one I can find has any idea how to remove the retaining pin short of drilling it out (not something I would feel comfortable doing) I have tried removing the rear sight turning it over a tapping the frame. It is not loose and does not move. Tried a powerful magnet also. Talked to Smith & Wesson who wasn't any help, send it to them with a 6 to 8 month turn around.

Welcome to the Forum

Most everyone is still not back to full speed with their employees thanks to the China Virus Crisis. Smith & Wesson is no exception

Before I would be drilling out a part of a revolver that was under warranty or paying some third party gunsmith to change the pin, I would be letting the Factory take care of the problem at no charge.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to put an aftermarket firing pin in your revolver? And BTW, I am not sure Smith & Wesson would do this at all. Using non-approved parts for a repair might open them up to liability if that aftermarket part fails

It may just be stuck in there with old oil. I would try putting some solvent or penetrating oil in the hole (acetone, naptha, brake parts cleaner, etc.), let it sit for a while, see if you can move the top end around with a scribe or similar, then blow it with compressed air. You want to hold a rag over the hole when you do that, as it may blow the pin out. I can't imagine they would press fit a pin in a blind hole.

627pc firing pin

Big time thanks to Protocall_Design.
That worked! I sprayed it will Kroil and let it sit for a few minutes, still could not wiggle it so I used a powerful magnet placed over the hole, turned it over and lightly tapped on the frame and it came out. Cleaned all the holes and installed the new KC Custom firing pin. Works great and now don't have to worry about using Federal Primers (which can't find nowadays) as the firing pin is .008 longer.
Thanks:)

This may be a stupid response to something that seems obvious! Has anyone pushed the firing pin in slightly to loosen it against the retention pin and then shook the pin out up side down?
