I bought my 627 Pro 5/08 - it quickly became my favorite .38/.357M! Here it is sporting a HiViz front sight, a tool-less change, and Jerry Miculek style monogrip, matching my 625JM, at least as to grip and sights. Also shown are moonclipped Federal reloads and factory Remingtons, all +P .38 S&W Special 158gr LSWCHP (I keep ready moonclips/speedloaders loaded with self-defense loads for every revolver in my safe.). Those moonclips fit the .357M Starline brass, too. They were bought from Ranch Products, 50/$50 or 100/$75 shipped several years ago (They are the same 'clips S&W ships with the 627 Pro, etc.). Somehow, a tape-wrapped piece of water pipe or broken golf club handle didn't seem appropriate for a then $719 revolver... I went big-time and spent $16 for the Brownell's nutdriver style, which holds eight .357M cases inside - great/handy demooner.
Two years later, I added a 2.63" PC627 UDR (aka 'Blood Work' gun) - which I liked it so much, I sold an old 'friend' - and bought a second PC627 UDR... for a home/car defender! I next added the most useful reloading tool - the '5 Star Firearms' .357/.38-08N speedloader (... and loading baseplate.). It isn't picky... it will take any case style - and either caliber - a great way to avoid the use of moonclips yet hastens up the reloading speed. The 627 Pro is a fun gun!
