I love my PC 627, however, it seems like I have medium-small hands and I just cannot get a high grip on it (has the factory rubber grips). If I grip it as high as I can, my strong hand is in a weird position and it plain hurts. I can grip it lower (about 1/4" from the top of the backstrap) but then the gun starts pivoting on recoil.

No problem whatsoever with my 586 or K22 and high grip. With the L frame I can feel the gun recoiling right into the web of my hand.

I really, really hope that a different set of grips can alleviate the issue, and I have been looking at the Ahrends Retro Target and Combat, but I'm unsure which one to get. As far as I can see the possible choices are:
Retro Targets (Round to Square Conv)
Retro Combat (Round to Square Conv)
Retro Combat (Round)

Which one do you think could help my situation?

Help!

I have a square butt gun, so it's a little different, but I bought Ahrends Retro Combats and they were too small for me. I'm 6'2" and I guess I have big(ish) hands... so I returned them and got the Tacticals, which I'm much happier with.

Anyway, since I have the square butt, I can't really help with the comparison between round and round-to-square conversion... but I CAN tell you that you'll be very happy with either. I think it really comes down to looks in the end.

I'm sure someone will chime in and help more, Kim Ahrends' grips have a big, well respected, following here.
