I am experiencing difficulty in upgrading/replacing the rear sight on my fairly new 627 V-Comp. While shopping for handgun items in Canada is getting better, it's a different world up here. I plan on some practical shooting, but still, I'd like something a little better than the plain dark sight that's there. I lurk on the forum everyday and enjoy you American guys having a great site to meet and share opinions and ideas. The civility is appreciated as well. I love visiting the States and visiting my American friends so I'll say it, God Bless America.

Hmm...wonder what I said wrong? Something I think. Just would like to get some ideas on replacing the rear sight on my 627 V-comp.

You didn't say anything wrong in your opening statement. However it was just a statement, not a question. What kind of responses did you expect?

Why don't you tell us what kind of "Upgrading" you are hoping to accomplish or what is wrong with the factory sights that you do not like.

There are very few replacement sights available.

The bulk of the Smith and Wesson revolver shooters are very happy with the factory sights. Occasionally someone will put a white outline blade on inplace of a black one or vise versa. The current style of sights have been used in all styles of competition for many decades now.

You could put an "Extreme Duty" rear sight on, but that is fixed, not adjustable. These were used on the NightGuard series. They are availble plain or fiber optic

There are the LPA sights that are manufactured in Italy. These can be had in standard blade or fiber optic style.

Meprolight makes Tritium sight blades with various front sights. This front sight came from SDM to work with the S&W IFS system.

Millet used to make sight sets, but I think they are just in the optical sight business now. You can still find some on the secondary market from time to time.

Bowen Arms makes a "Heavy Duty" rear sight

Weigand makes replacement sight blades that hang off the back of the revolver

Most everything I am mentioning can be seen in a Google search. You can order from most of their websites and have the stuff shipped to you.
