I have a chance to pick up a 1987 629-1, 4", in near perfect condition. I know that the early 29's (29-4 and older I think) had some "issues" that were corrected by -5 and later. Any concerns with a 629-1? This one is $599, a bit high but it is beautiful!

Thanks.

As long as you keep the full house mags to a limited level you should be fine, stick with 240's as your heaviest bullet load as well. This is a pre "E" pkg gun so it's just like the original 29's as far as issues go.

Well, I picked it up today. Here is a picture...
Anyone know what these stocks are? Ahrends maybe?
