Pretty nice 629-2 4". I believe this is the Mountain Revolver but I am sure some one on here will know for sure. Had Pachmyr grips which the Std Cat shows as factory. I added some Thai Combats until I can find some SW combats. I know I have a set somewhere in my grip hoard.IMG_7458.jpegIMG_7460.jpegIMG_7459.jpeg

Gary, it sure looks like you have the first and best edition of the Mountain series. Sure wish they had come with N frame RB bananas, instead of those hideous Pachmayer's, which look ugly and feel worse.

carelesslove, here !

I - too - have a M629-2 Mountain Revolver and thoroughly enjoy it ! Paired with a 5-screw pre-28, they make a great pair !

My Mountain Revolver has been "upfitted" with a Target Hammer, Combat trigger, and Kurac "Round-to-Squares (in Osage Orange) to dress it up a little.

Often unnoticed, the Mountain Revolver has 0.429" cylinder throats & a nominal 0.429" bore, making it a joy to shoot lead bullets - unlike all my other (older) .44's that have the 0.432" throats and nominal 0.429" bores.

Even cheap, 0.429" commercial cast bullets shoot well - higher velocity, no leading - equals more fun !

Thanks, Tom "carelesslove" Love

Definitely a "Mountain Revolver".

Back in the 90s I bought a later "Mountain Gun" that had a .435 groove diameter barrel. Wouldn't shoot lead worth a damn! Found a used Mountain Revolver, .429 barrel that shoots like it should with lead bullets. The one with the oversize barrel went away immediately, even at a small loss.
