I have a Model 629-3 with an 8 3/8" barrel. I am the original owner and I am trying to find the manufacturing date of this revolver. S&W does not have any historical information, so I am asking if anyone on this Forum can provide any information. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am attaching a photo.

Acording to the "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Edition" the Model 629-3 was introduced in 1989 and superseded by the Model 629-4 in 1993.

The Model 629-3 was a more fully developed Endurance Package that started out with the Model 629-2E 1989 Endurance Package.

Nice gun!

The three letter prefix of the serial number will give the approximate year. Post it and someone will give you the year. But it will be between 1989 and 1993

Thank You For the Info

I want to thank the two people that replied and provided information. Thank You.

The first 3 letters in the Serial are BFF

Again. I really appreciate the info and thanks for the compliment.
