I was at one of my gun stores yesterday, the kind that still has the "old time look and feel" and low and behold there is a nice 629-4 4" in the case.I look the gun over real good and put it back.I get home and think about it all night. This morning I'm at work and call the owner and ask her to take it out of the case and set aside,"I'll be there after work", I tell her.So after work I swing by my house pick up the wife and daughter and take nice ride back to the shop.Needless to say I now a nice 629-4 for an even $500 out the door.I'm leaving work an hour early tomorrow to put it on my permit and take it home.I can't wait!!!

You did good! a 629-4 in a 4 inch is a very desirable model and barrel length.

And a bear to hang onto with fullhouse loads!

Great revolver and an excellent price. It is one of my favorite field revolvers if I'm not carrying a single action. I think the 4" 629-4 was the height of refinement for that model. It carries great, has the enhancement package so can shoot full throttle loads w/o concern, great fit and finish, hammer mounted pin, and no lock.

And don't worry about those standard full power loads, it's a pussycat with them

! I like 240 cast LSWCs @ 1100-1150fps for plinking/target, but driving 270 JHPs over 1250fps is ..... exhilirating!
