629-4 with 4" barrel. Are there very many out there?

I have several S&W 29's and 629's. Below is my 629-3 with 4" barrel.
And my S&W 629-4 with a 5" barrel.

Both are my backpacking gun, both are tac spot on. And both are Pre-lock.

When I go out into the back bush it's without the fancy grips.
I think while they are hard to find it is because shooters who own them never sell them. Why... it's a great firearm.

I had a new S&W 29 4"-barrel 44 mag, but sold it to go overseas on photo assignment. Never do that again. (one of my stupid moves)

Then there is my Ruger Blackhawk .44 Mag. 7" barrel (old three screw) for grizzly country. Loaded with Federal 310gr Hammerhead, just to be sure.

Keep looking and don't be shocked at the price - they were only made for one year!

I have posted this before, but this is the centerpiece of my average accumulation. A 29-5 Classic DX 5" with Culina Holly grips. As near as I can determine, these were made in 1992 only, and about 200 were produced in the 5". I turned down a handsome offer for it within the last year
