Well, here I go. I've been lurking for months and even posted a few times. I bought my first N-Frame recently after researching on the site. Finding an "off roster" gun in Calif. that is within driving distance for a private party transfer is no easy task. in fact, it was 160 miles each way (twice). Anyway, I found a 629-4 3" in nice shape. I love that gun. I know it's pretty generic compared to the great guns displayed on this site. "There are many like it, but this one is mine" comes to mind. (USMC 68-71).
I dumped the Pachmayrs that came on it and got some Ahrens combats in cocobolo. Then I got a very nice handmade holster by H.C. leather, the color of which seems to compliment the cocobolo grips.

Congratulations, thats a nice find! Many folks think the 629-4 is the best of the stainless .44s.
