629-6 problem

So I'm at the ranch enjoying some target shooting when I have a problem. So I take a shot pull the hammer back pull the trigger and click, re-cock pull the trigger click. Only fired on shot so there are still 5 live rounds left. I pull the hammer back again and notice the cylinder is not rotating, you can half cock and rotate cylinder manually but cock hammer back will not rotate cylinder. What's broke? Can I fix problem myself or is it going for a trip to S&W for warranty work? Purchased new in September 2012 so warranty is good. If It has to go back to S&W any ideas on how long their turn around time would be?

Sounds like an issue with the hand not turning the cylinder. Open the cylinder, then slowly pull back on the hammer while you hold the thumb latch to the rear. You should see the end of the hand come out of its slot in the breech end. Note if it does not, or seems damaged (chipped?) that is probably the problem. A free fix by S&W with free paid shipping.

Also check that the hand spring is in place. Has the side plate been off since you shot it last?
