It's been a long time since I posted here but got a question for you all. Just picked up a 629-6 Stealth 44 mag and want to mount a Leupold 2.5-8 or Burris 2-7 handgun scope to it. The weaver slot spacing is a little odd and doesn't lend to easily mounting a scope with normal rings. Using the precut slots doesn't allow enough room for the adjustment section of either scope. Have any of you seen a ring like what is circled in the photo? I'm trying to keep the objective lens back away from the barrel ports and front sight. I appreciate the help!

I have a scoped 29-? 8 3/8 Classic that was made to be a Silhouette gun I put the Leupold base in it. with the Leupold scope you mentioned. I don't think you have any reason to worry about the porting doing damage to your scope. You can put tape on the objective bell to make powder residue clean up easier, but a rag with Hoppes takes care of that easily.

If you insist on rear-mounting your scope, use a set of the really wide 6 screw rings and trim away anything you don't like.

Thanks. This Stealth model already has 3 Weaver slots cut into the barrel. I'm trying to find a ring like what is circled in the picture that utilize the existing slots.

I believe it called an extension ring. I had an Aimpoint 5000 on my Stealth Hunter and had to add an extension to the front to keep the lens from getting smoked over after 5 or 10 rounds. The setup in your photo is not going to be very satisfactory.

Thank you! Those are it, sure aren't very pretty though... I'll look and see if I can find a similar ring of higher quality. Why do you think this won't be very satisfactory?

Here's what I'm thinking. A single lever scope mount from ADM and either the Burris 2-7x32 or an Aimpoint Hunter H30S. I'd prefer to have a magnified optic with an illuminated reticle but since that's not available a red dot may be the next choice. The Leupold has been removed as a choice. Got to looking at the dimensions and it's nearly a foot long, too long for this gun.

Look at Allchin mounts for a small red dot. For your purposes, a tube type would probably be better. An Ultradot Matchdot II might be a good choice.

Those are nice looking red dot mounts but like you said I'm looking for a tube optic.
I've used Ultradot Matchdots previously on bullseye guns. I found that they had quite a bit of parallax, didn't take the eye to be off center much for movement. I switched to Aimpoint Micros on those guns years ago, the parallax was reduced considerably.
