I, too, have small hands and short fingers. I also love N frame S&W revolvers. That has caused me to try many different types of grips and combinations. As you will see, I'm fickle and have a hard time deciding. Most are wood grips and look/feel good but are not the most comfortable to shoot a lot with. The grips shown on the .44's are comfortable to shoot with .44 Special rounds. I've found almost all N frame "rubber" grips to be too large for my hands.
Here are examples of some of those I've tried.
For a square butt: Faux Ivory Magna Grips with a BK adapter
Ahrends Retro Banana Grips (Probably my favorite)
Retro Banana Grips on a longer barrel (610)
Altamont Magna's with BK Adapter
Most Comfortable for a Square Butt, Original "Coke" Grips
"PC" Magna Grips also work for a square butt
Herrett Target Grips (They are smaller than factory targets, they also make them in Round to Square)
Herrett's also come with S&W Medallions
Hogue Grips
