629 No Dash 6" ***UPDATED w/ Better Pictures***

I finally took some better pictures. I updated the ones in the original post. I thought it was better to keep this thread updated instead of adding a new thread.

More updates will probably follow soon. I finally found a nice set of target stocks that have the "football" cutout. They should be on their way to me!! I am pretty sure they will be more accurate for this "no dash" model. Stay tuned...... :D

That's a beautiful gun! And the stocks are very nice, too. I've been trolling eBay and GunBroker for nice K/L targets and have seen N-frame targets like yours selling for hundreds of dollars.

A 629 like your new one is going to be my next buy.

Great looking purchase, I am jealous I traded mine for a Dan Wesson about 10 years ago and then traded that on a T/C with a couple of barrels, but wish I had the Smith back. What you gonna do?

Ed,
Thanks for the compliment! It is funny you said that about the N stocks vs. the K/L stocks. I too was amazed at the difference in price. This 629 is my first N frame S&W. I own several K and L frame revolvers and have purchased a few stocks for them. Typically you have to spend $45 to maybe $75 for good quality K/L stocks. The N stocks, however, are priced at double that range!!??!! I just found a set on eBay where the seller put up crappy pictures. I was able to get them for under $80. When they arrived they looked brand new. I asked the seller a few questions and took a chance and was lucky this time. He could have easily sold them for $125 to $150 if he had taken good pictures!! Not sure exactly what justifies the higher price? I can't really see much difference in the two (K/L vs. N) target stocks other than the way they are cut out in the back. Hope I don't have to buy any more anytime soon!!

Good luck finding a 629. Mine is a "blast" to shoot!!

What you gonna do?

A good friend of mine reloads .44 magnums for his Ruger Super Blackhawk. We're gonna stock up on ammo and go put large holes in things!!:D
