500 rounds should last a month or two!

Very Nice! I have an early 629 Mountain Gun which is similar. I too shoot mostly .44 Specials in it, mostly because I'm old and getting a little frail (dammit) and don't appreciate the recoil like I did when I was younger...

The 4” 629’s are my favorites
Handy size for packing around on a belt for any reason, town or country.
Pure plinking pleasure with a good mid range load
Will do anything needed when stoked with correct full power loads

Well.. target shooting in the desert.. with 44 specials. Cowboy loads.. not much recoil at all.

Any specific parts? I’ll have to revive this thread in a month or so
I bought this as a 3" 629 about 8 months ago assuming it was a Lew Horton. When I went to put N frame combat grips on it they didnt fit. I then requested a historical letter assuming it was done by Jovino but since the barrel isnt marked effector I wasnt sure. Sure enough the letter came back that it was shipped directly to John Jovino as a 6" barrel. I have been told that not all effectors are marked but I do not know how to verify that.
