Sorry if this is in the wrong place. It I am having a hard time finding a couple parts. A few years ago I was able to order directly from SW …but the parts came in 12months after the order and the gun was long gone by then. Specifically I am looking for a sear spring for a 629-6. I believe it is for the mim sear. I had the gun part nd the spring popped out. I eventually found it (I don’t know how) but given the size of the little fart I thought it would be prudent to find an extra as well as a few other parts I like to keep around. I did find one for close to $20 with shipping. Does SW sell parts to the consumer anymore? I can find no links on the web page. Anyway I am frustrated with the process and any help would be appreciated. Any moderators can feel free to move this if necessary.

Yes, they do sell parts directly - at least they do to me, and I’m a nobody. They probably are selective about what they sell. They always have been. Some parts are off-limits. And I doubt they’d be too keen about any order from outside the US. Try to have the part number ready when you call them.

Thank you for the reply. Is there a schematic on the forum where I could find the part number? The only parts diagram I can find pre date my revolver.
I looked through the sticky posts but could not find anything.

You will probably have to look for one on-line. I don’t think there are any here. S&W used to have them on their website but I haven’t looked for one there for years now. If you don’t have a part number, I suggest you call Jack First and describe exactly what you need. They are knowledgeable and should be able to help you. Trying the same thing with S&W may or may not be successful, but with your modern, current production gun I’d think they could help you… maybe. :o

The MIM sear spring for the dash 5/6 model 629 is part # 21577.

Yes, S&W still sells parts. You can call S&W by phone and ask to speak with someone about ordering parts. 1-800-331-0852

They will likely send you a new spring for free.

Parts numbers are here on the forum.....("Notable Thread Index" on the top of the "S&W-Smithing" page)

PDF's of the Parts Lists

Schematics on some of the models can be found at Brownells and Numrich. Remember, Numrich does not list S&W parts numbers, but use their own SKU numbers. Brownells lists the S&W parts numbers.

Smith and Wesson no longer produces parts schematics or parts lists available to the public. Good luck.

de nada,

Carter
