629 or 29 what's the preference of most ?

I own the 626 and have a friend that wants to trade a 29... I think it's like 6-9 yes newer model

Keep your 629.....you would be trading down. Your current piece is of an era that is of value. That 29...not so much....

Which do you like better?

I like my stainless 629 Mountain Gun, stainless 686, stainless 60, and pair of stainless (and aluminum) 642s. However I just got a very we'll kept blue model 19. You've gotta love a nicely blued revolver.

M29, because that's what I have.

In this particular case, i'd lean towards the late 29. Cylinder throat sizes are more apt to be "normal". Plus they are scarcer than that particular 629 variant. (Which is about to lose it's Millett rear sight, BTW.)

I'm with jaymoore on this, but only cause the 629 is boogered.

I have both and enjoy shooting both. You would too!

Seeing neither is P&R I would keep the 629 because I find Stainless easier to clean..
