64-3, 3inch Update

Hi all,

I wanted to give everyone an update on this project. I bought a 63-3 Round Butt with a 3" in barrel earlier this year at a local Gun Show for $300.00. It was pretty rough so I thought it would be a good project gun. I promptly sent it off to Marc at Gemini Customs. I had him do the Executive Package less the porting on. You can take a look at his website for details.

Well, I got it back today after about 13 weeks at Gemini Customs. It is an amazing revolver now. The SA (Single Action is lighter) than most of my 1911's and the DA is smooth as butter This was my first Custom Gun and its awesome.

I went to the range about 5 minutes after my son got home from school and put 200 rounds down range.

I have 2 3" Model 65's, and am liking the black front sight on yours.

The black front site gives you a great sight picture. Tried to go with a Big Dot sight but marks magic could only go so far. He worked miracles on the rest of the gun.

It did indeed turn our super nice. Kind of an understatement. Marc at Gemini did an amazing job on this gun. He said it was about as roughy as he has seen in his shop.

He did such a nice job that I
Immediately sent my .357 640-1 out for a similar work up. Can't wait until August when it gets back home.

The finish looks outstanding. Black front sight compliments it nicely also. Great job. The 3" 64 is a very under rated gun. Which may be a good thing as they can still be had for a reasonable price. Loaded with BB +p's it's all you need.

The finish is a Simple Bead Blast but Marc at Gemini seems to have it down to a science/art.

I have to agree with you. The black sight creates good contrast and a good sight picture. And your right, you can still find a good condition "3 in model for a reasonable price.

I wont to get into the .357 vs .38 discussion, this thread will be hijacked in hurry.
