The stock grips dont seem to clear my safariland speed loaders with ease, and they feel a little too short for me. Could anyone point me in the right direction for a better grip. Better quality, fit for a speed loader and maybe even a tad longer would be awesome.

Answered my own question after doing a hour or so of research, turns out if you dont want to spend a chunk of money on really nice grips such as the spegals, the "old" Uncle Mikes boot grips are designed off of the spegal grips and will work for speed loaders with ease.

Be sure to try the old Uncle Mikes combat grips (three finger). Also designed by Spegel, very comfortable to shoot and clear most speedloaders.

I had a problem with the J frame grips that came on my 642-1,too small for my large hands and couldn't use a speedloader. Bought a set of Pachmayer Gripper J frame grips (3 finger) and both problems solved.

The mighty J frame has a hard time digesting speedloaders no matter what kind of grips you use. Hell, you can take the grips completely off and it's still a chore to get speedloaders to work with ease.

Try a Bianchi speed strip. It's a lot slower but they work and carry easier.

Such a oxymoron to me, "go for the slower, speed strip" :)
